Ageing / Long Term Degradation
Specifying the right level of insulation to meet current standards is one thing, but maintaining that level of performance over the life of the installation is becoming an increasingly important aspect. Some insulants can suffer from long term permanent degradation if exposed to a combination of moisture and heat, so for duct insulation it is crucial to specify a material that won’t degrade under those conditions.

Independent testing of Kingspan Koolthermregistered Duct Insulation has shown that its thermal performance is not prone to long term degradation whereas mineral fibre can suffer from long term permanent degradation in certain circumstances.
