New European Fire Classification System
The new European Fire Classification System has been developed to assess the "reaction to fire" for wall and ceiling lining products. This has been negotiated with the national fire regulators of the EU countries by the European Commission, in an attempt to bring some consistency to the way in which products are rated for fire at an international level.

Although the new system is not yet applicable to ductwork, the "reaction to fire" classification will have some relevance to building services insulation at some future date.
