Building Regulations / Standards
2006 brought new, tighter Building Regulations and Standards governing
the conservation of fuel and power in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, strengthening the
role played by building services in reducing energy consumption.
In England and Wales, new Approved Documents L1A, L1B, L2A and
L2B were introduced, as were the new Technical Booklets F1 and
F2 in Northern Ireland and a new Technical Guidance Document
L for the Republic of Ireland.
Meanwhile, Section 6 of both the
Domestic and Non-Domestic Technical Handbooks to the Building
Standards (Scotland) are to be updated and
reissued during 2007.
