OPTIM-R vacuum insulation panels (VIPs) were installed in a 50 mm thickness, along with a 30 mm thick overlay of Thermaroof TR27.
The VIPs were installed on the private terraces of Clarges Mayfair apartments featured on the fifth to ninth floors, and on the fully accessible terraces with adjacent green roofs in the offices at 7 Clarges Street.
OPTIM-R is well suited for Clarges Mayfair as the product offers a minimal construction thickness, allowing the project to maintain maximum floor to ceiling heights.

The optimum performance of the VIPs combined with slim build ups allowed the roofs to meet the overall U-value of 0.20 W/m2k, without compromising internal space. Improving the thermal performance of Clarges Mayfair helped the building to reduce its energy demand, thereby ensuring fewer carbon emissions.
