Product update – Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen Board
As part of a development project, Kingspan Insulation has made adjustments to the foil facer material of Kingspan Kooltherm K15. This change affects all Kooltherm K15 manufactured from the 09th March 2022 onwards. Please note that as a result, a number of BS 8414 system tests now have a corresponding assessment in lieu of test, in accordance with the guidance given in BS 9414: 2019. This assessment takes into consideration the change of facing material.
Tested Build-up
- Wienerberger Waresley Red Stock bricks
- Siderise Lamatherm RH25G-90/30 stone wool horizontal cavity barriers with intumescent strip
- Siderise Lamatherm EW-CB30 stone wool vertical cavity barriers
- 50mm cavity
- 100mm Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen board* fixed to Kingspan nilvent breather membrane and 12mm thick Versapanel cement particle board
- Two layers of 12.5mm plasterboard fixed to Kingframe SFS comprising galvanised, cold formed steel ‘C’ -sections with 100 x 50mm vertical studs
- Combustion chamber surround constructed from 3 mm thick aluminium
*A small area had Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen board in an 80mm thickness.
