What is LPCB?
Part of the BRE, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) is a third-party certification body. The LPCB’s Loss Prevention Standards (LPS) are recognised and applied in fire and security sectors. The LPCB offers third-party certification to confirm that products and services have met, and will continue to meet, these standards. Does Kingspan Insulation have any accredited LPCB products or systems?
No, Kingspan Insulation products are certified by other bodies, such as the BBA.
What is the difference between Kingspan Insulation and Kingspan Insulated Panels?
Both companies belong to the Kingspan Group, but are separate entities. Kingspan Insulation predominantly sell rigid insulation boards and Kingspan Insulated Panels manufacture large scale external panel systems.
Why have BRE republished existing Kingspan LPCB certificates?
Following discussions with the BRE they have now confirmed they will continue to support LPCB certification for the previously certified products.

What underpins the performance of Kingspan Insulation’s products?
The quality assurance of our product performance is validated by:
- Internal factory control testing which is performed daily in our factories and is carried out at a frequency that complies with regulatory standards.
- All declared product performance attributes are external verified by external certification bodies and test houses including the BBA, FIW, Efectis, Warrington Fire, Salford University.
- The performance of fire sensitive products (fire rating C and above) are under system AVCP1, which involves monthly external verification of performance. System 1 also includes an annual audit process of factory processes and procedures (excludes composite products).
- All our manufacturing sites are accredited to ISO 37301: 2021 which is an internationally recognised standard which demonstrates we operate an effective compliance management system.
