The Dixon
A London court house has been extensively renovated and converted into a boutique hotel
The Sunningdale Park development offers a new community of town houses and apartments located in the grounds of a Georgian mansion near the outskirts of Greater London. The estate has been developed by Berkeley Group with residents having ready access to a range of natural spaces including historic walled gardens and woodland.
Mackenzie Place, named after the former manor owner, offers 38 one and two bedroomed apartments as affordable housing, with a further three private penthouse apartments. To weatherproof and insulate the building’s flat roof, IPS Group installed a roofing system combining Thermataper TT47 and a Rubberfuse TPO single ply membrane.
The boards are compatible with a wide range of waterproofing systems including fully adhered single-ply, partially bonded built-up felt, mastic asphalt, and cold liquid applied waterproofing.
As with all Thermataper projects, our tapered roofing service team developed a system layout from the roof plans. This bespoke design approach ensures that the completed roof surface will provide effective drainage and meet the target U-value with the most cost-effective solution.
Once the designs were finalised, the boards were supplied to site with a clear layout. This allowed the experienced IPS Group installers to rapidly fit the insulation layer. Once the boards were laid, they then fully bonded the Rubberfuse TPO single ply membrane over the boards, utilising the Rubberfuse spray contact adhesive and Insulation adhesive with the Rubberfuse SA VCL and Spray Primer.
In addition to the standard Thermataper TT47 supplied for Mackenzie Place, we also offer Thermataper TT47-K and Thermataper TT47-O systems. These feature Kooltherm and OPTIM-R packer boards respectively and can typically allow the target U-value to be met with slimmer overall system thicknesses where available depth is a concern.
